Surface contact, not line contact. Built for load.
Tru Direct Screw and TruBase are TruAbutment's answer to a simple manufacturing reality: scanning, printing and milling all carry tolerance. A flat-type screw absorbs that deviation instead of concentrating it — for full-arch, hybrid and single-unit restorations alike.
One prosthetic decision, three ways to deliver it
The Direct-to-MUA screw method has become a standard full-arch approach alongside two long-running alternatives. All three start from the same multi-unit abutment — the difference is what sits on top of it.
MUA Ti-base
A titanium base is cemented or bonded onto the multi-unit abutment before the prosthesis is retained — an extra bonding interface, and an extra point of possible failure.
Direct to MUA
The prosthesis is retained straight onto the multi-unit abutment with a Tru Direct Screw. Fewer interfaces, fewer points of failure, and it's what this page is built around.
Bar Frame Denture
A milled or cast bar splints the implants before the overdenture attaches — reliable, but adds fabrication steps and cost that Direct-to-MUA removes.
Tapered screws fail where manufacturing tolerance lives
A tapered screw only ever contacts the abutment along a line. Any deviation from scanning, printing or milling shows up as uneven torque during seating — and, eventually, as a fractured prosthesis. TruAbutment's flat-type screw spreads that same deviation across a full surface.
Every digital workflow step introduces error at this scale. A tapered screw has nowhere to put it. Tru Direct Screw's flat surface compensates for it — which is where the long-term success of the restoration is actually decided.
Straight for parallel cases. Angulated for everything else.
Both variants deliver the same even, stable stress distribution — the only difference is how much angulation correction you need at the access channel. TruAbutment's ASC screwdriver and screws are purpose-built for angulated delivery without sacrificing seal or seating force.

Direct Screw connections come in Hex 1.25mm, Hex 1.2mm, Torx and Unigrip to match your abutment platform.
Seat it in a cross-pattern, not a circle
Diagonal, star-pattern tightening pulls the framework down evenly instead of walking it off the abutments. Three light cycles beat one hard pass.
This staged approach distributes force evenly across the framework, reduces stress at seating, and improves long-term fit — the same logic that drives the Tru Direct Screw's flat-surface design.
The titanium base under every zirconia and SCRP restoration
TruBase (Ti-base) is the titanium interface for zirconia hybrid abutments and screw-retained crown & premolar (SCRP) restorations. Engaging and non-engaging versions cover most implant systems on the market, in 3.5mm and 5.5mm platform heights.
- Engaging & non-engaging options per implant platform
- 3.5mm and 5.5mm heights across most systems
- Compatible screw range: DS/AOT/T-L, ASC and standard TruBase drivers
- Manufacturer-specific torque values, from 15–35 N·cm depending on system
Scan the case once. DS mills the final crown and the custom abutment from the same design file — one action, two matched results, and no light-scope-to-actual-product drift.
- 100% machine-milled — no manual polishing necessary
- No milling disc, no pre-milled blanks
Everything between the implant and the final restoration
TruScan Body
For intraoral and extraoral scanning. Available for most systems on the market, autoclavable, and laser-marked with implant type and size.
TruBase (Ti-base)
The titanium interface for zirconia hybrid and SCRP restorations, in engaging and non-engaging versions.
Digital Lab Analog
A two-piece, screw-type implant replica built for 3D-printed models.
Lab Analog
The implant replica for conventional stone models, plus the full range of hand and torque drivers.
One screw system, most of the implants you already place
TruBase, TruScan Body and Tru/ASC Direct Screw components are engineered against these implant platforms. If you don't see your system, ask us — the library is still growing.
